Many postage stamp collectors or philatelists collect stamps that have a specific subject or topic.
I am one of these topical philatelists and my chosen theme is stamps featuring cattle.
I have been collecting this theme for quite a while and have developed a comprehensive list of stamps relating to this subject. All stamps in Cattlelogue feature cattle in some way, such as depicting cattle, breeds, products from cattle, cattle in human culture or wild species in the cattle family.
For each stamp, the aim was to provide a quality image plus details such as country of origin, year of issue and stamp description. The corresponding catalogue numbers for the four major stamp catalogues are also provided: Stanley Gibbons, Scott, Michel and Yvert & Tellier. In most cases this information is displayed, but there are a few stamps listed where either the image could not be located or is of poor quality, or the corresponding catalogue number(s) are missing or unconfirmed.
The website will continue to be updated from time to time as new “cattle” stamps are released or we find already issued stamps that have been missed.
I am pleased to accept any feedback, updates or new information from visitors to the site. Help with improving image quality or missing catalogue number would be much appreciated. Your assistance will help make this Cattlelogue the most complete it can be.
